reached Plurking Nirvana?

August 10, 2008 – 7:36 pm
Is this a glitch? Today, i am told that i've reached Plurking Nirvana: Let's just see if that badge stays after 24hours.. according to Plurk's definitions: I swear, Plurk is as demanding as a paranoig and possessive boyfriend! but demmit, that  yin-yang  sure looks good in my page!

because *Waking Up* is hard to do…

August 9, 2008 – 11:47 am
Grrr, I've been having sleeping problems lately. My body's just not adjusting well to schedule changes. Now that I'm working out again, the need for a more realistic day routine's becoming so apparent. My sister got in Mandarin Oriental's MT program, translation: thats an hour and a half with 20 minutes of walking if she's gonna commute all the way. Bringing a car has never been an option for the 2 of us either specially with the rising prices of gas and parking. We're seriously considering getting a rented place instead. Right now we're still figuring the economics of that move. It's always been a plan of mine to live independently before I reach 25- not in a dorm or anything funded by my folks, but from hard work. Let's see what happens. Who knows, in the next 2-3 months, I might be blogging from another address. So what do I do now ...

888!

August 8, 2008 – 3:29 pm
How has the magical 8-8-08 been so far? The day has been charming for me, thank goodness. Yesterday, one close friend almost had a heart attack from fright... of me! They duped me over a stupid prank that did everything but make anyone laugh. What a waste of good brain cells! I had my piece about the whole ordeal and heaved a sigh as a sign of "i'm done". In fairness, I finally got the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers last night. Half the price in Taiwan, and free for Appsie. hahaha! would've worked as a peace offering though he really meant to give it to me before they did that dumb joke. Anyway, i woke up to a great day despite last night's fiasco. Batting my now oh-so-curly lashes, i said hello to 8-8-8! There's a lot of things I should be thankful for. one, I work regular dayshift hours which means I ...

on love and movies

August 1, 2008 – 11:20 am
Forget about having your man grilled by the entire family. A harana or chopping firewood for your grandparents both are also very old school. I’ve discovered a modern twist to these “test of love” methods. Invite your howe to something he detests… like… Cheesy Tagalog movies! I couldn’t believe B when he told me before that he’s never gone into a movie house for something local. Indie, Classics- to my surprise, he doesn’t have a thing for those too. So, I dared him to watch a Pinoy film with me. Haha! He answered too soon with that “Yes” and didn’t realize the trouble he’s got himself into. Along with Chetty and Rj, we went to see “A Very Special Love” last night. The whole time, B sunk in his seat while the masa crowd applauded and cringed at expected scenes. Hahaha! Priceless! Movie wasn’t so bad, we didn’t really expect much from ...

gone kawaii

July 23, 2008 – 3:20 pm
Doesn’t it bring you joy when the two people you love are getting along so well? Best bru’s on a vacation here from Japan. I was able to introduce her to Rj, the guy ‘best’ bud. (*because ’best’ is a concept we invent! hehe) They hit it off right away. Good vibes all over, fantastic! Chetty and I met in St. Paul while Rj’s been bugging me since 2nd grade. Haha, joke lang bro! I’m the happiest and silliest girl right now because of this, fun-fun-fun. We made Rj sing and fooled around a game center last night, here are our cute perikura photos: TimeZone’s booths are the older kind- no IR transfer for phones. Boooo. The stylus also magically disappeared- some punk’s idea of “cool” probably. Next stop is Cebu and Bohol next month. Yeays. Oh, and they went out today without me! Hmmm. :p We’re often told that our friends are ...

My contact lens accident

July 16, 2008 – 8:58 pm
Since everyone's asking what happened to me, here it is in detail: Monday night, my day ended quite exhaustively even after cancelling my boxing lessons. I met up with Lycette, the balikbayan sister, had dinner and rounds of fun directed to Rj. By snooze time, I was too tired to go through all the nightly regimen and gave in to the call of that very inviting bed. Yes, as a contact lens wearer, I had gone against the basic, basic rule= NEVER EVER, EVER sleep with your lenses on. Regardless of its claims to being extended wear or highly permeable to oxygen. I recently purchased this P1,400 for 3 lenses claiming just that... only to my dismay of having this accident to its account. Anyhoo, fast forward to 4am, alarm sounding off to get ready for work... I got to pop the lens out of my right eye. My left on the ...

Andanita Taj of Tagaytay

July 13, 2008 – 8:09 pm
"Not your usual Tagaytay food"--- this place really isn't for those who are seeking the regular Bulalo or Spanish cooking. Of course, the great view and weather is what city dwellers like us look forward to. So for the adventurous at heart, don't limit your Tagaytay stay to its central district. A few more meters beyond that "thank you" arc lies a new destination that gives tribute to the Hindustan experience. Taj of Tagaytay is a resto-coffee shop-spa-hotel that's open 24 hrs. we were greated by an accommodating staff last 4th of July, as we took in the spice-laced atmosphere of the place. Away from the congestion of the main town, this simple and unpretentious new spot is sure to bring a smile to your driving-tired faces. It's got free wi-fi though i doubt you'll want to be reconnected with the outside world anytime soon. My favorite spot is the Shisha room: The ...

Visine as an eyeliner sealant

July 10, 2008 – 11:41 am
A typical sealant can cost hundreds- Urban Apothecary sells theirs for $12 (Php540). Since MMU is loose, using it as an eyeliner means having to pull-out something similar to the said sealant. I've also read several horror stories through forums wherein cosplayers get all sorts of eye irritation because of it. yikes. And because necessity forces people to be innovative, i learned from a friend that a home cabinet mainstay can wipe out these concerns. Visine or any typical eye drops are cheap and safe alternatives! Even my contact lens solution worked fine :) All you do, is wet the brush with the solution before dabbing it in your pot. And voila, you get that lasting and precisely-applied eyeline. It doesn't smudge but can be taken off easily when you wash your face. I'm simply enthralled with how makeup works and making people feel beautiful through it. Basement, my favorite-favorite salon ...

Selling Cosmetics!

July 8, 2008 – 5:25 pm
I've joined the raket bandwagon and am selling a really good brand of mineral makeup-- so good that it's turned a non-kikay like me to a convert :) Ellana Mineral Makeup is Coney Avellana's brainchild. A Frank Provost student before, she's always wanted to have her own line of cosmetics. True enough, by finding a business partner who shares the same enthusiasm for making women b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l, Ellana Cosmetics came to be :) Fortunately for me, I met her through the Network of Enterprising Women workshop that Myren Garcia put up. The prices are really competitive, and you can afford to get a whole line of multi-purpose powders because you just can! this is definitely a girl's dream come true. hehe. These multi-purpose make-up pots are eye-shadows that can also be used/mixed for blushes and lip color (blended with a good lip balm). For more information about the products, check MineralMakeupLove.Multiply.com. I have ready ...

getting fit, soon-ish

June 25, 2008 – 11:45 pm
Lookie--- new Everlast training gloves, alavet! My old (cheap) ones are tired of me already, and retire they will! Because the padding was giving out, my knuckles really took the stress ( read this entry ). This one's much better- 12oz, just the right weight. I was looking at the pink campaign gloves from the same brand, but they might be wee too flashy for moi: But you must admit-- it IS cute! haha. I was also tempted to get the Evergel handwraps like what my trainer suggested, but I'll reserve that after I get in shape again. I'll be going back to the gym plus taking the boxing program starting next week. So pray for me and my weakened social life after. Anyhoo, i've proven that the gym is a good place for network building so it's not entirely a loss. :p My trainer's going to kill me when he sees ...
